[glow=purple,2,300]Here is the issue. Lunaire revolves around the moon and there must certainly be moon deity(s) but do you think there should be one moon god/goddess, or two and of which gender group?
I know the moon is often personified in the form of a woman, antiquity has always had a feminine touch to the soft glow of the moon and even to this day, people refer to 'her' rather than 'it' when writing about our lovely silvery orb.
It is that stereotype which first led me to believe that the moon was more male. I always imagined him as a calm grandfather type figure, watching over his children and grandchildren throughout the night and yearning for his Lady, the sun. It also ties in with the wolf factor. I have this idea that wolves are like his cousins, and the Wolf God would then be his brother, a close companionship and love between the two.
Then again, there is no reason why there can't be two Moons, one male and one female, or even have the moon be gender neutral like I am. =D

:OThat mysterious goddess didn't just appear you know¬.¬, Who's not to say the suns female too. Sisters. The moon continues to hide in her shadow and comes out in the dark when she believes no eyes are on her.... The moon always young with a soft glow. The sun, slowly ageing (it shows in her face), always searching for a way to shine more... she caused glabal warming... SHE DID IT. But that's just my randomness.... Funny... neutral sarn didn't vote for neutral.

Maybe have a female entity represent the light side of the moon, and a male to represent the dark side of it? Personally I like having a feminine moon deity, but I think using both could work well here.
Lunaire's learned astronomers, on the phases of the moon: The moon is split into two domains; the realm of light under the rule of the moon goddess [name], and the realm of dark under the rule of the moon god [name]. The moon is constantly spinning, so that over the course of a month the light side of the moon will turn away from Lunaire to allow the dark side to watch over the world. The dark side will then turn away to once again allow the light domain to watch over Lunaire. The time it takes to go from a full moon of light to a full moon of dark is roughly 30 days, then roughly 30 more to return to a full moon of light..

[glow=purple,2,300]Actually, if we go by earth's moon, it does the whole wax/wane cycle in 28.9something days. Personally, I think Lunaire should have its own moon cycle and I'd be happy to talk to my uncle who is more informed on the subject of celestial bodies than I am (in more ways than one x3). Perhaps we could change the axis of tilt so that we get different moonward patterns of light and dark, maybe Lunaire's moon is much larger than earth, or many there is a primary moon and a single, or even multiple secondary moons?[/glow]

I like the idea of two, with the dark side of the moon. Maybe create our own moon cycle, and when the dark side shows is when the dark magics of Lunaire rise up, but it isn't all bad. Maybe it's the dark magic that cause the creatures to evolve, sometimes in a bad way (Evil, haunty, etc), but also sometimes in a good way depending on each creature's nature and lifestyle, as well as their destiny. Either way, the moon has to play an important role, and I really think it should be the main cause for any changes/events in the world and to its inhabitant.

I wasn't intending to post it until I had all the little bits worked out, but maybe I will later today. xD[/glow]
